How this is calculated

Time per visit = visit length + admin minutes + round-trip drive.
Cost per visit = time × hourly pay + miles × $/mile + supplies + (yearly overhead ÷ paid visits per year).
Base price = cost ÷ (1 − tax set-aside % − fee % − profit %), rounded up.
Visit price = base × (1 + extra-pet % × (pets − 1)) × (1 + holiday %), rounded up. Booking = visit price × visits per day × days.
Earnings per hour = (price × (1 − tax % − fee %) − mileage − supplies − overhead) ÷ door-to-door hours.

Example with the defaults: 30 + 5 + 15 = 50 min. $16.67 pay + 6 × $0.50 mileage + $0.50 supplies + $900 ÷ 1,000 = $0.90 overhead = $21.07. $21.07 ÷ (1 − 0.12 − 0.03 − 0.10) = $28.09, rounded up to $29 per 30-minute visit; 2 visits a day for 7 days = $406.

Questions

How much should I charge for a 30-minute pet sitting visit?

Price the whole trip, not just the 30 minutes: drive, admin and the visit itself at your hourly pay, plus mileage, supplies and your share of insurance and software, then add your tax set-aside, fees and profit. Many US drop-ins are in the low $20s to high $30s; use the local-rate box to check your market.

How do I price dog walking?

The same way. A 30-minute walk is often 45 to 60 minutes of your day once you add driving, leashing up and notes. Enter the walk length, the extra minutes and your pay, and the calculator prices the walk.

How much extra for a second pet?

Many sitters add a percentage of the base price per extra pet, often 20 to 50 percent, depending on how much extra work it is. Set your own percentage above.

Should I charge more on holidays?

Many sitters add a holiday premium because demand peaks and they give up their own holidays. Enter the percentage and the visit price updates.

How do I price overnight stays?

Overnights are usually priced per night. Count the hands-on hours (evening and morning care) at your hourly pay, add a fee for being away from home overnight, then add the same tax, fee and profit percentages. This page focuses on visits and walks.
